This platform will feature educational modules on cultural burning, community-led documentation of wildfire responses, and digital tools for and outreach. Additionally, we will partner with wildfire technology developers for pilot deployments. This initiative aims to empower communities to lead in wildfire resilience while highlighting innovative solutions across Canada.

The FireLine Founders Story

Michael Seymour and Norman Dempsey are seasoned professionals with over 25 years of combined experience in media production, storytelling, and Indigenous knowledge systems. Their paths converged around a shared concern: the increasing devastation caused by wildfires across Canada and the urgent need for community-led solutions.

Drawing from their deep roots in visual storytelling and cultural engagement, they envisioned a platform that could do more than just inform—it could empower. FireLine Media was born from this vision: a scalable media and data infrastructure designed to support wildfire prevention, mitigation, and adaptation through Indigenous-led education, documentation, and training.

Michael brought his expertise in strategic media development, branding, and digital platforms, while Norman contributed his lived experience, cultural insight, and commitment to Indigenous resilience. Together, they crafted a solution that blends traditional ecological knowledge (TEK) with cutting-edge media tools—creating immersive education modules, community-driven response archives, and digital outreach systems.

At the heart of FireLine is a belief that stories matter. By passing on knowledge through film, VR, and interactive media, the platform ensures that Indigenous wisdom and wildfire resilience strategies are not only preserved but scaled—reaching agencies, institutions, and communities across Canada and beyond.

FireLine isn’t just a media company. It’s a movement—led by two visionaries who saw the smoke on the horizon and chose to build something transformative.
